Yoga Studio Classes Offered by Balance Yoga Center

Balance Yoga Center Hot Yoga and Hot Yoga Express

Balance Yoga Center’s Hot Yoga class is a 60 or 90-minute beginners yoga studio class that includes 26 asanas (postures) and two pranayamas (breathing exercises). The series is derived from the complete system of 84 asanas and pranayamas developed by Bishnu Ghosh. It is a progressive workout where each posture stretches and strengthens the muscles, ligaments, and joints needed for the next posture in the series.

The room is intentionally heated to 105 degrees and 40% humidity in order to warm your muscles, prevent injury, allow a deeper workout, and cleanse your body by releasing toxins. Each class stimulates your organs, glands, and nerves, providing freshly oxygenated blood to the body. The class also helps cultivate faith, concentration, patience, determination, and self-discipline. This method offers a challenging, effective, and rewarding practice that will increase flexibility, improve circulation, and help reduce stress. Students of all ages and levels of fitness will benefit from this total body workout.

Tips for getting the most out of your Hot Yoga class:
  • Come to class hydrated.
  • Wear workout clothing that you are comfortable sweating in.
  • Bring a yoga mat, towel, and a water bottle.
  • We rent yoga mats and towels for $2 each.
  • We sell water for $3.

Why 105 Degrees?

Yoga changes the construction of the body from the inside out, from bones to skin and fingertips to toes. A warm body is a flexible body. Once the body is warmed up, you can reshape it any way you want. Warming up your body is an essential step when starting a hot yoga class. Click here to learn more about the benefits of hot yoga.

This heated style of Hatha Yoga flushes away your body’s waste products – the toxins of all the glands and organs of your body. It provides a natural irrigation of the body through the circulatory system with the help of the respiratory system. Additionally, it brings nourishment to every cell of your body so that each one can perform its function and keep your body healthy. Balance Yoga Center’s Hot Yoga class in San Jose also employs heat to further that cleaning process: when you sweat, impurities are flushed out of the body through the skin.

Practicing yoga not only increases our supplies of oxygen, but also teaches us how to use that oxygen properly – breath control is taught through the practice of pranayama. Contact San Jose’s Balance Yoga Center today to sign up for one of our hot yoga classes!

Inferno Hot Pilates

Inferno Hot Pilates is a training system which combines Pilates principles with high intensity interval training and is performed in a room heated to 100 degrees Fahrenheit and 40% humidity.

Inferno Hot Pilates combines cardio and muscle toning in a heated room. This high intensity interval training keeps your heart rate up which helps burn fat. Pilates principles sculpt your body, creating long and lean muscle mass. The heat loosens up the muscles quickly and the humidity makes you sweat — elevating your heart rate, boosting metabolism, and promoting detoxification.

Inferno Hot Pilates at Balance Yoga Center in San Jose creates long, lean muscle mass, burns fat, and increases your fitness level, no matter where you start. It creates a stronger core, improves circulation, and increases flexibility. It is performed on a yoga mat which makes it zero impact, protecting your joints and muscles from the pounding of other exercises like running and jumping.

Tips for getting the most out of your Inferno Hot Pilates class:
  • Come to class hydrated.
  • Wear workout clothing that you are comfortable sweating in.
  • Bring a yoga mat, towel, and a water bottle.
  • Balance Yoga Center rents yoga mats and towels for $2 each.
  • Balance Yoga Center sells water for $3.

What is Vinyasa Flow?

Vinyasa is defined as “breath-synchronized movement”, so a Vinyasa yoga flow is primarily focused on keeping in motion with your breath. Your breathing will push you into each pose, making them incredibly effective and powerful. Quickly becoming one of the most popular forms of yoga for exercise, Vinyasa is a great workout because although it is incredibly effective, it also gives you a chance to tune in on your breath and your breath only, helping you to relax.

Our Class

At Balance Yoga Center in San Jose, we proudly offer an all-level Vinyasa class in which you can practice your flow. During these classes, we’ll go through a sequence of poses that build both flexibility and strength, applying focus to our breath the whole way through. We’ll guide you through each and every pose, making sure that you are getting in and out safely. Our Vinyasa Flow class is open to people of all skill levels, body types, and abilities. Teaching you proper breathing technique and basic to intermediate poses, we’ll help you make your practice as effective as possible.

Gentle Yoga

Gentle Yoga explores asanas (yoga postures) in a safe, gentle way without heat or extreme movement of the body. A great yoga studio class for all levels but especially for beginners, those sensitive to heat, or those healing from injury. The class will gently take you through meditation, pranayama (breathing), standing asanas, and floor asanas to build strength, flexibility, and proper alignment.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga theory approaches the subtle energy and physical body through softening surrender. We are passive, light, and receptive. This softness of body and mind allows Chi to move through the meridians and restore health in all systems and organs of the body. Yin Yoga stretches the connective tissues and allows for this spaciousness to penetrate and heal our bone structures with a greater range of motion in the flexibility of the body. Passive asanas are held for up to five minutes, giving the practice a strong foundation in mindfulness and meditation, as the source of yin energy arises in stillness. It is accessible to and benefits all students of yoga, both beginner and advanced. Each class is 90 minutes and taught in a warm room.
