HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR FIRST CLASS

Please show up early for your first class:

  • In order to guarantee you a spot, pre-registration is required.
  • Plan to show up 15 minutes early for your first class.
  • Check in at the front desk. We are expecting you.
  • We lock the door when class starts. If you are late, you won’t get in.

You will need:

  • A Regular Yoga Mat (not a thick fitness mat).
  • A large yoga or bath towel to put over your mat (to soak up your sweat).
  • A water bottle. We have a water filling station available as needed.

Come hydrated and on an empty stomach:

  • Drink enough water before class so you are well hydrated.
  • Skip that heavy meal. Come to class on an empty stomach or have only a light snack.

Plan to stay in the room:

  • You may get light-headed, nauseous, or dizzy. This is normal. Sit down and rest.
  • If you feel too hot, sit down, rest, and watch the class.
  • It can take some people a few classes to acclimate to the temperature.
  • It can take time to learn how to breathe in the heat and know how to pace yourself during class.

What you WON’T need with you while you are in class:

  • Phones
  • Bags
  • Shoes (Socks are fine. They will get sweaty. Most people practice barefoot.)
  • We have cubbies and lockers available for you to store these items.

We have lockers and showers:

  • Bring a towel if you want to take a shower after class
  • Bring a lock if you want to secure your locker
